Located on the western edge of Nikitari is the church of Apostle Andreas, which constitutes the main church of the community. It is a large, architecturally modern church with two imposing bell-towers and it is internally adorned by a wooden iconostasis.
The need of the loyal Christians to honour Apostle Andreas since no other church in the area is dedicated to the Saint, as well as the necessity for a bigger church, led to the decision for the construction of this church. The building of the church began in 1998 and was completed a year later, in 1999, when its inauguration ceremony was held.
